Contact: Chaplain (Lt. Col.) E. Ray Moore, USAR Ret., Exodus
Mandate, 803-714-1744
COLUMBIA, SC, Aug. 23 2007/Christian Newswire/ -- Frontline Ministries
will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of Exodus Mandate with
a gala banquet October 9. Featured speaker will be the former
Attorney General of Virginia, Mark Earley, who is now president
of PFM.
A Christian non-profit organization, PFM is composed of Prison
Fellowship and BreakPoint, an organization that equips Christians
to live out their faith in the culture. Prison Fellowship is the
world's largest outreach to prisoners, ex-prisoners and their
families.
The $50-a-plate banquet will be held at the Columbia Conference
Center with doors opening at 6:00 PM. To order tickets or become
a table host, call Gail P. Moore at the Exodus Mandate offices,
803-714-1744.
The Exodus Mandate project has become a leading advocate in America
today for K-12 Christian and home-based education as an alternative
to state-run public schools.
Exodus Mandate was launched by E. Ray Moore in 1997. Rev. Moore
is a retired Army Reserve Chaplain and veteran of Gulf War I.
With his wife Gail, the couple began home schooling in 1977 and
was among the first who pioneered the modern home schooling movement.
As a result of Exodus Mandate and similar organizations, an estimated
2.5 million children will be home schooling this year--and millions
more will be attending Christian and private schools.
Besides the Exodus Mandate project, Frontline Ministries also
offers a mentoring network for parents called Home Schooling Family
to Family and operates a chaplaincy service to provide Christian
ministry in the workplace.
"We believe that Christ commanded us to be salt and light,
reaching out in love to help our neighbors overcome the challenges
of living for the Lord in an increasingly secular society"
says founder E. Ray Moore of Columbia, South Carolina.
"We American Evangelicals have erred in teaching that Christ's
Great Commission is simply about proclaiming the good news of
salvation. It also includes K-12 Christian education of children
in family and church settings. Science, math and liberal arts
are all part of a normal Christian education--not just sound theology,
ethics and morality."
Mark Earley was named President and CEO of PFM in 2002. A global
network of outreaches, it now works to help rehabilitate prisoners
in over 100 countries. It was founded by Chuck Colson who still
serves on the PFM Board of Directors (www.pfm.org). PFM also sponsors
various programs including a daily BreakPoint radio commentary
hosted by Colson and Earley; the Wilberforce Forum, a network
of writers, scholars, and speakers who promote a Christian worldview
and annually recognize Christians of influence through the Wilberforce
Award; a division of the ministry providing BreakPoint media services;
the Justice Fellowship which advocates criminal justice reform;
the Worldview Resource Center to gather and disburse information
on prisons; and Centurions, an intensive study program that equips
Christians to engage their church, community and culture with
biblical truth.
Next month, Mark Earley will launch The Point, a one-minute worldview
radio commentary that encourages Christians to think about timely
issues and how they affect the culture and everyday life.
